What Happens In An In Person Hypnotherapy Session?
Arriving and Beginning the Conversation
When you come for an in-person hypnotherapy session at my London clinic, we begin with a conversation. This first part of the session is a chance for you to arrive, settle in, and speak freely about what’s on your mind. Some people come with a clear issue they want to address—like anxiety, pain, low confidence, or a habit they’re ready to shift. Others arrive with a more general sense of unease, overwhelm, or simply a desire to feel more balanced, grounded, or resourced and inspired.
Exploring What Matters to You
Whether your goals are clear or still taking shape, we’ll explore them together. I’ll ask thoughtful, focused questions to help uncover what matters most to you. There’s no pressure to have all the answers—many people find clarity emerges naturally through this process. And even if you’re not entirely sure what you want to work on, that’s perfectly okay. Professional hypnotherapy can still support your overall wellbeing, helping you feel more balanced, more resourced, more connected to yourself, lighter and happier. This is one of the many reasons people seek out in-person hypnotherapy in London: to reconnect, reset, and move forward with greater ease.
Settling into Hypnosis
Once we’ve established a focus—whether it’s a specific issue or a more open intention for change—you’ll make yourself comfortable on the sofa. I’ll guide you into hypnosis using my voice (if you’d like to hear how my voice sounds, click here). This shift into a focused, creative inward state is a very natural part of human experience—similar to being so absorbed in a book or a film to the point that we forget it’s raining outside the window. It’s one of the most accessible and surprising aspects of how hypnotherapy works—a state that many people enter more easily than they expect. Even if you find meditation or concentration usually difficult, or struggle with switching off, you will most likely find hypnosis easy and restorative.
Beginning the Therapeutic Work
In this state of heightened inner awareness, we begin the therapeutic work—tailored to your individual needs, your pace, and the changes you’re seeking. In-person hypnotherapy allows us to work collaboratively in real time, supporting shifts in mindset, emotions, and body; it is a whole-person process. Hypnosis helps access deeper layers of thought and feeling, opening the door for new perspectives, positive suggestions, and lasting transformation. Together, we create a space where meaningful change can unfold—safely, respectfully, and in alignment with your values and inner resources.
