Speaking About Hypnosis On The Neuroscience Podcast Beyond Five Senses
I have contributed to an episode of Beyond Five Senses, the neuroscience podcast, where I discuss with hosts Robyn Landau and Katherine Templar Lewis, experts in neuroscience and neuroaesthetics, some of the mechanisms of hypnosis.
In the podcast I discuss my understanding of the mechanisms of hypnosis and how they benefit our wellbeing, creativity and inner resources. I also briefly demonstrate how a session of hypnosis could look like. One of the presenters Robyn Landau offers her insights into her experience of having a session of hypnotherapy with me, how it felt and some of the effects that unfolded afterwards. We are joined also by clinical experts in the field of hypnosis who further discuss its mechanisms and effects.
This is a new podcast series which focuses on neuroscience and neuroaesthetics, and makes sense of our sensory abilities beyond the usually identified five sense. It looks at the superpowers that lay, sometime hidden, in our sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch and that rarely appreciated or fully understood. In this episodes the presenters look at ways to address pain through various modalities including hypnosis and how effective they are.
The show purports to present an experiential way to learn about science, the senses and well-being. It brings together real life stories and interviews with pioneers and neuroscientists. It looks at our senses and also at our internal bodies, and how we can enhance our creativity, connection, health by tapping into these often hidden resources. Each episode is a journey into the realm of human sensory experience, from the healing power of touch to the effects of music on non-auditory perception, hypnosis as a treatment for pain and a way to restore wellbeing.
With real stories of people who have expanded their sensory capacities, and conversations with experts and scientists who celebrate the vastness of human perception, Beyond Five Senses is an experiential guide for listeners to boost their inner senses based superpowers for increased well-being, creativity and a more meaningful human experience.
